Descendants of Freedmen Association Meeting – Saturday – 7/14/2012.  ONE PM.  First Missionary Baptist Church, 429 Denison St., Muskogee Oklahoma.  Please bring a covered dish to share with Meeting attendants.  Local contact is Mrs. Brown. 918-683-2753   king605874@sbcglobal.net  .  Political candidates for nearby tribal and non tribal elections will be recognized.  Updates on the status of Federal Court cases will be given during the meeting.

On Saturday August  11, 2012, The Descendants of Freedmen Association will host their next meeting at the Rudisill Library, 1520 N Hartford, Tulsa Oklahoma ONE PM. The meeting is free and open to the public.  Local contact is Mr/Mrs Lawrie: at 918-587-6968 or . 

The Descendants of Freedmen Association will host their September meeting on  Saturday September 8th 2012 at the Faith Memorial Baptist Church, 3117 N Kelly, Oklahoma City, Ok.  The open meeting will begin at one PM.  Political candidates for nearby tribal and non tribal elections will be recognized.  The open meeting will be followed by a short closed business meeting for members of the Descendants of Freedmen Association. 

On  July 2, 2012, the US Department of Interior Filed briefs in the Federal court case Cherokee Nation Vs Nash et al and Ken Salazar which countersued the Cherokee nation for violating the 1866 treaty rights of freedmen.  Articles include:
